Calathea Ornata
The Calathea Ornata is a tropical houseplant and is also called the living plant. The Calathea owes this nickname to a unique property. The leaves of the Calathea close as soon as it gets dark and as soon as it gets light again, the leaves open again. The Calathea originally comes from the jungles of South America, where the plant is used to high humidity.
You can spray the plant regularly with a plant sprayer. It is best to give the Calathea small amounts of water regularly. Make sure that the potting soil is always slightly moist. In the winter you can give the Calathea a little less water. As soon as the heating is turned on, the air becomes drier. The Calathea is not used to dry air. To prevent the plant from dying, it is important to continue spraying regularly.
The best location for this plant is in partial shade. Place the Calathea in a light place, but not in direct sunlight.
Please note: plants are a living product and may differ from the photo and description. Our plants are delivered in a plastic nursery pot. All plants are packed and shipped directly from the nursery.
